As Peel Regional Police advances its Human Rights Project (HRP) and commitment to addressing systemic racism, ARAC brings community voices to the table by providing advice and perspectives that help shape equitable policing, support the implementation of HRP recommendations and strengthen relationships with Peel Region's diverse communities.
New volunteer members will join existing ARAC members to help build a committee that reflects Peel Region's diverse communities, cultures, lived experiences and perspectives.
At ARAC, we are committed to fostering equity, inclusion, and belonging. We welcome members from diverse racial, cultural, ethnic, access and ability, faith, age, socio-economic and all lived-experience backgrounds (e.g. gender, sexual orientation, gender-identity, Indigenous identity, immigration status, recognizing that meaningful change is strengthened by a broad and intersecting range of perspectives.
By bringing diverse voices to the table, we can better understand community needs, address systemic barriers, and advance anti-racism efforts that benefit all. We especially encourage applications from individuals whose lived experience reflects the communities we serve.
